To be in thermodynamic equilibrium with each other, a collection of particles must

• all have the same temperature
• be in dynamic equilibrium
• if the collection is a fluid, then all have the same pressure

So, for particles in thermodynamic equilibrium
• all have the same temporal orientation
• all have their chains of events in historical order
